Work has begun on transforming Goole Market Hall for East Riding of Yorkshire Council. The Market Hall’s renovation is set to become a central hub for Goole, providing a modern venue for events and a space that fosters community engagement. William Birch is excited to continue contributing to the revitalisation of Goole and to see the positive impact this project will have on both the town and its residents.
The Goole Town Deal Board is investing £4m worth of Government funding into the Market Hall and sees it as an important “anchor” destination that will significantly increase footfall and spending in the town centre.
The Market Hall, a treasured part of Goole’s history, required extensive refurbishment. The challenge lay in modernising the building while preserving its historic charm. The project requires a delicate balance between structural repairs, energy-efficient upgrades, and the introduction of modern amenities. Additionally, the project involves working within the constraints of a heritage structure, requiring expert knowledge in both modern building techniques and historical preservation.
Procured under the YORbuild construction framework William Birch commenced on site March 10th, 2025, and is scheduled for completion at the end of the year.
