The Dronfield Heritage Trust

The project is to carry out the refurbishment of the existing historic hall barn along with the construction of a rear extension; the barn is a 14th century timber-framed building which was over-clad in the 18th century with stone. The re-developed Barn will be used as a community focal point and unique venue. The Heritage Trust will deliver high quality heritage, natural history and arts activities from the barn and across the district. The barn will also provide an exciting venue in a beautiful setting for functions and events.

The works involve demolition of the existing internal walls, removal of concrete floors, removal of stone sets and setting aside for re-laying. The existing roof is to be stripped and timber treated followed by the reinstallation of the original roof tiles. The new extension at the rear will be single storey and partially glazed.
